Betcy Aley Counseling,
Naples Florida Therapist

Hi there. If you are struggling, feeling overwhelmed, and unsure of how to proceed to find clarity, I’m here to support you. I’m a licensed mental health counselor therapist with a passion for retraining the brain using evidence based, gold standard practices to create real change in people’s lives. I’ve been described as having a very no nonsense yet compassionate approach. I will push you safely and steadily toward your growth and set goals.

Many of my patients are in pain because their emotions are not matching up with the ‘shoulds’ they place on themselves and/or others. They may need help navigating a plan forward and generally feel a great deal of confusion. They need help finding acceptance of their own path, even if it means being in pain for a while. I have a knack for helping others feel lighter and more empowered by encouraging the resolution of uncomfortable emotions.

About Me

I am passionate about guiding individuals through some of life’s most challenging transitions. My expertise lies in supporting clients who have experienced complex trauma and dissociation, helping them reclaim their sense of self and safety. I am certified by the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation having completed a 3 year program and heavily involved in the treatment of Dissociative Identity Disorder and Ritual Abuse.

I also focus on life after narcissistic and antisocial abuse, helping survivors process their experiences and establish boundaries that foster emotional well-being. Whether recovering from manipulative relationships or breaking free from cycles of psychological harm, I am committed to providing insight and strategies that promote resilience and self-restoration. My goal is to help clients shift from a place of survival to one of renewed confidence and purpose.

In tandem with this I work with those navigating the aftermath of Affair Recovery and Betrayal Trauma, providing a compassionate space for healing and empowerment. My approach is rooted in understanding the deep emotional impact of these experiences while equipping clients with the tools to rebuild their inner strength.

Additionally, I specialize in Co-parenting and Post-Separation Counseling, guiding individuals as they navigate the complexities of parenting after high-conflict relationships. I work with clients to develop communication strategies that prioritize the well-being of their children while reducing stress and conflict. Whether through in-person sessions in Naples or online therapy across Florida, I am dedicated to supporting my clients as they move toward a healthier, more empowered future. As a Qualified Parenting Coordinator with the 20th and 12th judicial circuits, I serve Collier, Lee, Charlotte, Glades, Hendry, Sarasota, Manatee, and Desoto counties.

Therapy is not forever

I often tell clients that PSYCHOTHERAPY is not about coming in every week for years on end. It’s more like taking your car to the mechanic. If your car is in good shape, you can take it in once in a while for a check up (a yearly discussion about intentional living, concerns, and goals). If you hear something concerning your vehicle, the quicker you bring it in, the less work and cost is involved (Life transitions and higher stress levels). If there has been a lot of damage (Long standing mental health concerns or complex trauma), it takes more work. Let’s get to work so you are back driving happily on your road of life.

Learn how to navigate your emotions and let go of your anxiety.

We all go through big life transitions don’t we? And of course many of them can bring stress and difficulty in adjusting. My specialized training in life stress reduction techniques and can  help support you as you navigate major changes, whether they be births, deaths, moves, break ups and divorces, job loss, retirement, and many other lifestyle and familial changes. These more structured therapeutic techniques can help to release anxiety about the future – those dreaded ‘what should I do dilemma’ questions that cause such stress and worry. I can support you in getting out of your own way to find your calm.
